Unaware of my surroundings
sticking close to home
you keep your feelings confidential
you’ve left me here alone

learning how to breathe
we’re going on the air
with our beating hearts
and our empty stares

this is getting obvious
you’ve begun to second guess
watching my every move
you trace my every breath

caught up in a stalemate
our hearts gone from our sleeves
all we have is static
now left drifting in the breeze

on the air with our tired hearts
gently slowing down
who i was in the beginning
is far away from now
