The sun, its gaze sets upon the honey suckles dew;
As children scamper across the grassy meadow where butterflies once flew.

There laughter, there smiles sparkle thy face;
As they chase the agile winged creatures with such pristine majesty and grace.

So ill willed and small, such is an insect to a child.
A simple pleasure such as this can abound and last for miles.

To catch just one would be such a gift.
To see their expressions rise so excitedly and lift.

So come now ye’ butterfly into my grasp;
Cradled with curiosity, wonder, and tenderness that will forever last.

In time I’ll let you go, so that you may as well be freed;
To lead your own graceful life full of elegance, readiness, ability, and need.

*** For my two beautiful girls; I love you now, always, and forever! May you always
find comfort in the little things in life, and treasure each moment like it’s your last. ***
Love that abounds unconditionally,
~ Mom ~
