The kids are raised, left the nest, and now I’m all alone.
The thought of life without them is chilling to the bone.
Their life is just beginning as they take their solo flight.
I watch them as they take the leap and fly plain out of sight.
Tears of joy and sadness possess my every thought.
For them I am so happy, but for me I am distraught.
I pray for God to guide them as they take their leap of fate, to send a special someone they can make their lifelong mate.
For me I’ll have to fly away and leave this empty nest.
Our lives have changed forever and we know it’s for the best.
