A citizen and volunteer is someone to behold.
Their knowledge and their wisdom is
something to unfold.
They don’t look for recognition, they do it just for fun.
It keeps them very busy and always on the run.
As our lives become less hectic and our jobs seem ever few.
We wonder in our hearts, if their’s
something we can do.
So we take up volunteering, for its a worthy cause.
And come attend the banquet, and get your big applause.
You are recongnized with honour, at this communtiy affair.
To show our towns appreciation, and to say we really care.
If it wasn’t for the volunteer, their wisdom offered free.
We would’nt have committies, nor their members opt to be.
They won’t be together,as the funding isn’t there.
For each of the parties, to get their even share.
It’s so nice to take a minute and ponder what you’ve done.
The effort you’ve put into it, was just alot of fun.
Your thoughts and ideas, together doing good.
You’ve put it all together just the way we knew you would.
Now you have a vision of what a citizen can do.
So let your name come forward and join our happy crew.
“Once” that this has happened, and we know you’ve done your best.
Our team will join together and we’ll do all the rest.
