I’LL CARRY ON
My life was wounded, dead and broken
Taking turns that lead to nowhere.
Though I tried and searched for peace
I was alone and lived in fear.
There was no place of rest for me
And no comfort to be found
I strived to find some kind of joy
But in my weakness I would drown.
It was then that you arose
and saw my helpless state of life.
You promised that I would survive
And soon you’d take away my strife.
Still I refused and sought to prove
That I can fight this fight alone
But nothing worked and as time passed
You started to melt this heart of stone.
You taught me things I never knew
and never heard or dared to talk of
Only trust would heal my heart
And show the way to peace and love.
So now I walk with both eyes closed
And hope in faith to lead the way.
I promise that I’ll carry on
and I will fight both night and day.
