I lay here
Awake from the night
Dawn approaching
Peeking sunlight
Hand on my belly
Staring at you
Baffled by the love
The love I have for you
You sleep soundley
I kiss your arm
You dont move a muscle
I try not to trigger alarm
I lay here in wonder
Wonder how you got me this way
Entangled in your web
I will never stray
To watch you in slumber
Is quite an amazing treat
So peaceful and innocent
In this moment all else is obsolete
I lay here feeling the kicks
Of our son to be
And I cannot explain
What a treasure he is to me
This human being is a piece of you
And that is something I’ll never regret
For if you are ever taken from me
He will be the remnents of you that are left
I lay here and watch
As you dream a dream
And wonder how someone so beautiful
Could ever be taken from me
So I assume that why the tears fall
And why to really look into you hurts so much
Because all good things must come to an end
And I dread and fear the day we ever lose touch
Thinking of the good times
And the good times yet to come
Will keep my thoughts positive
And its nice to know our lives have bareley begun
I try not to be morbid
Or have my mind stray to the end
But how can I not think of what will happen in the long run
My heart would never be able to mend
I have such a deep love for you
That it scares me to think
One day I will have to lose you
Unwillingley my mind crosses that brink
So I’ll lay here and look
And appreciate youre entirety
For a lifetime will never be enough
Time here on Earth with me.
