His contradictions could write a novel
and his voice could tell the story
boy meets girl, you know the one
their synchronized hearts kept them going
the skipped beats changed them forever
more skipped beats than synchronized
but regardless of which heart kept them close
they’re the perfect picture in the frame
he is her and she is him
but with differences that create a balance
it’s evolving with time
and at a close to constant rate
but with the fear of being forgotten
the fear of being lost in the pace of time
the terrace of life and the battle of love
his hold over these things holds what’s to come
only so many shooting stars will pass
only so many wishes can be made
she questions his thoughts
and gets agitated at his process
will the events occurring push times constant pendulum
both to the right and to the left
everything happens for a reason
or the excuse made for the impaired heart
to lessen the fear of what could have been
their downfalls make them who they are and who they’ll become
both his and hers are overlooked by each others eyes
she was lost in his skin, and the touch of his hand
the thought of his lack of permanence still pulled her in
he was her wake up call
the one she could adhere to and confide in
nothing’s secure with him, but that keeps her involved
life is changing, time is passing
she tried guessing and checking
trying to picture an outcome
she should know better than to try and figure it out
curve balls are thrown and chances are missed
only to be followed by life and time’s irrationality
what she’s expecting is to keep going
he was her and she was him
