What feeling like this could be
That no time at all evades
Deeply in the bark of an old tree
So much as the carving made
Many of the years may come
When all remembers nothing
Lingering moments left alone
Ceases not a heart in remembering
No longer do we hold each other
So swift are the hands of time
When no more could I reach
Your hand freezes mine
Sudden are the moments shared
Endless though one could find
Amazingly how a heart preserves
What is long gone behind
With you I mean forever
But forever remains elusive
For when I grasp
The end to me, it only gives
This I cannot embrace anymore
But why when I let go
My heart still feels unfree
How long will forever be embracing me
