Who would guess that one small friendship
Could turn into one important relationship?
Who would guess that one 27 year old
And one 10 year old
Could soon become very close?
I could guess
Because I was the 10 year old
And you were the 27 year old.
We have argued, we have fought, we have had our rights and our wrongs. We have had our tears and smiles, our laughs and our secrets.
You’re more than a friend, you’re a lifesaver
Where would I, my dad, and my brother be if you weren’t here to support us, love us, take care of us,
Where would I be if I had only one parent who tucked me in at night, worried about me when I didn’t show, and talked to me about my friends and family?
I’ve never had a day at the mall, a spa night, or one night out to dinner and a movie with my mom, but with you, I’ve been able to experience all of these things. With you, I’ve turned my frowns upside down, my sad tears into happy tears and my broken hearts, into newly repaired, glowing, joyful hearts.
I remember only one time actually loving one dinner meal that I was fed by my mom, but with you,
I remember loving every single dinner meal that you have prepared for me, and I want to thank you,
And make sure that you know how much I appreciate you, enjoy you, and most of all, love you.
If you haven’t noticed already, I love cooking meals with you, having girl nights with you, and spending quality time with you.
I would never want you to leave, or be replaced.
At this point in my life, you are like my mom to me, but better
And that’s why I love you so much, and never want to let you go
