The noisy announcement,of thier departure,
makes every head look to the skies,
pointing the way to thier destination,
keep in strict formation,as they fly.
there is always the odd idler,
too busy, watching the view,
bossy squaks, bring him in to line,
“no time to wait for you!”
they bring a smile to my face,
even though Autumn is very near.
trees will give up their leaves,
a chill will soon be in the air.
I often wonder, where they go to?
imagine all their amazing sights,
swooping over seas and oceans,
barron wastes,hills, city lights.
admit it, you would like to go with them,
and you are not the only one,
to soar above lush green fields,or
yellow scorched by the sun.
cascading deafening water,
still ponds,lakes full of life,
witnessing, natures show of slender,
gloriously painted bright.
Soon they’ll return,time passes quickly,
I’ll watch them as they re-appear,
laugh at their riotous antics,
and say goodbye again next year.
