Drama, lies, and tears.
Welcome to the teenage years.
Everyday is just another heart break.
Feeling worthless, not perfect, betrayed.
All your “friends” end up being fake, you’re seeing just how much you can take.
The weight on your shoulders, getting heavier and heavier as it’s weighed.
And the scars on your wrist never seem to fade.
Looking in the mirror suddenly becomes a mistake,
You don’t like what you see,
And your body seems to ache.
Everyone who you care for seems to flee.
Leaving you helpless, and all alone, while they seem happy with glee.
Nobody seems to care about how you feel,
You will never heal.
Everyone’s heart is made of steel.
You’re being judged here and there,
Just because you don’t have perfect hair, people stop and stare, just to see what you wear.
“It’s not fair,”
You swear and snare.
When people ask if you’re doing fine, you say yes.
That’s your best guess.
You always seem to be tired,
But you wired from the hate.
All you are is bait, for other people to feel great.
People say they start clean with a new slate.
Let’s get this straight,
You’re a little to late.
You open the gate,
And you wait.
Fearing the next step you take.
You grab your hair, scream, and let out a cry.
No one seems to hear.
You’re feeling as if you’re going to die,
You’re going to disappear.
Your eyes, flooded, drowning in your own sorrow.
Today’s just another day,
But what about tomorrow?
Drama, lies, and tears.
Welcome to the teenage years.
